MISSION:

Coalition Support and Development:  Civil Operations personnel will use unique military skills and expertise to support and help develop and lead community coalitions whose mission includes reducing the harmful effects of drugs in their community.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

  • Use the Strategic Prevention Framework model promoted by the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) to assist coalitions in conducting community assessments, determining capacity, planning, implementing, and evaluating progress of their action plans to reduce drug use and its consequences.  Help ensure sustainability and cultural competence are factored into the framework.

  • Offer "Kaizen" evaluation events to help Coalitions identify strengths and areas to improve.  This tool can provide coalition leadership and members with valuable feedback on the effectiveness of the Coalition.

  • Support implementation of evidence-based prevention programs (6a missions) and adventure/experiential based educational opportunities (6b missions, ABE/EBE).  These missions must be included in a Community Coalition's strategic plan, and must be requested by the Coalition on behalf of educators or others wanting this support.
